A Lecture-cum-Workshop on “Stress Management: Health in Your Hand” was organized at IIVER and delivered by Dr. V. N. Srivastava. The session highlighted that individuals can manage stress through self-assessment and awareness. Stress is of two types: Eustress and Distress. Eustress is a positive stress that helps in performing daily tasks, while distress is harmful and can affect both work and health.
Dr. Srivastava emphasized that problems and conflicts should be solved early, otherwise they accumulate and may lead to serious mental health issues. He also stressed the importance of sharing feelings with a trusted person, expressing emotions, and maintaining social communication. The workshop concluded with the message that mental health is real wealth and excessive stress should be avoided.
